Numbers without context really don’t say what you think.

Inflation is the worst it has been in 40 years… Republicans rejoice. What was going on 40 years ago? The Mortgage rate in 1982 was 16.04%, today’s rate is 6.38%. In ’82 the unemployment rate was 10.8%, today’s unemployment rate 3.6%. In ’82 Argentina invaded the Falklands, today Russia invaded Ukraine. …And in ’82 there was no pandemic. All that and Reagan was President. Reagan? Wasn’t he the GOP’s standard bearer, the original ”Make America Great Again” guy? So, the Republicans goal is high inflation, interest rates, and unemployment? Go figure.
